Welcome to Antenna Research Group

The Antenna Research Group (ARG) at the University of Colorado Boulder is housed in the Department of Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering. ARG’s research specializes in antenna theory and design with emphasis on applications of electrically small antennas (ESAs), simultaneous transmit and receive (STAR), wideband microwave and millimeter wave communication and electronic warfare front-ends.

Signal Processing Electronic Attack RF (SPEAR) Front-End

Objective: Research and development of a 90:1 wideband mono/bi-static dual-polarized STAR front-end.

Flexible and Modular RF Systems for Space Constrained Decoys

Objective: In collaboration with Prof. Popovic, we are looking into fundamental and applied solutions for extending decoy operation through W-band.

Circulator In Aperture (CIA)

Objective: Basic study on embedding circulator functionality within an antenna aperture.

Antenna and Beamforming Network for Spectrum Staring Receiver

Objective: Research and development of wideband (0.5-110GHz) antennas in support of near-instantaneous electronic support measures system.

Low Profile HF Antennas for Vehicles on the Move

Objective: Research and engineering of wideband (BW > 24 kHz) low profile vehicular on the move antennas operating from 2 to 30 MHz with main focus on NVIS.

High-Power Subhyperbend Antennas and Arrays

Objective: Fundamental research that will enable miniaturization of high-pulsed power antennas and their performance in time and frequency domains.
