Simón Mostafa was a doctoral student with Dr. Linden and Dr. Rosario-Ortiz from 2010-2015 at the University of Colorado Boulder and graduated with a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering. He researched photochemical processes in non-conventional wastewater treatment systems. After graduation he traveled around the world and landed in Mexico where he is the Director of Research for the NGO Fundación Cántaro Azul.
