Shelby is a B.S. student in Environmental Engineering pursuing a minor in Global Engineering and a certificate in Engineering Leadership at the University of Colorado Boulder. Through the Discovery Learning Apprenticeship program, she has been helping to investigate using UV LEDs to mitigate biofilm prevention in irrigation drip lines in Israel. Her passion lies in resource recovery, using our waste products from the wastewater and solid waste industries to help provide a more global sustainable future. She plans to enter industry after graduation and later attend graduate school. In her free time, Shelby likes to knit, make pottery, read, and attend lectures in multidisciplinary fields.
