Dana Pousty-Lakritz
Dana is a passionate environmental scientist with a deep passion for addressing water scarcity and inequality in underserved communities. She is currently a Postdoctoral Associate at the Linden Lab, where she focuses on optimizing and applying UV-based water disinfection methods in challenging settings.
Dana earned her master's and Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering at the Water-Energy Technologies Lab, at Tel Aviv University. Her doctoral research extensively explored UV-LED-based water disinfection technologies, including investigations into core inactivation mechanisms of microorganisms under different wavelengths, novel methods for intensity measurement, integration of photocatalysts in UV-Vis systems and the real-world implementation of UV solutions in remote areas of emerging countries.
Over the past few years, Dana has worked on implementing UV technologies in partnership with industry leaders and NGOs worldwide, tackling not only technological challenges but also the techno-economic and social dimensions of water solutions.
Outside of the lab, Dana is an avid lover of nature, animal, camping, and backpacking—and she’ll never say no to a piece of cheese!
