Let Them Hate on Your Smile Upcoming CDI Events

This session will guide fellows on effective networking strategies within STEM fields. Emphasis will be placed on establishing meaningful connections, leveraging academic conferences, and utilizing digital platforms. Participants will learn how to identify and approach potential mentors and collaborators, and how to sustain these professional relationships. Lunch Provided.

Scholarships & Fellowships

This national scholarship, awarded annually, supports graduate students from underrepresented groups pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree in mathematics education or a STEM field. It recognizes individuals committed to civic engagement and honors the late Bob Moses, a civil rights leader and educator who founded The Algebra Project, a program dedicated to improving math literacy for low-income students and students of color, ensuring their readiness for college and beyond.
Scholarship Award: $15,000
Application Deadline: March 1, 2025

This national scholarship, awarded annually, was created to support the educational aspirations of an undergraduate student who demonstrates exceptional dedication to civic engagement and a strong commitment to advocating for individuals who have been systematically excluded. It honors the late Lenora M. Green, former Executive Director of the Center for Advocacy & Philanthropy at ETS, who was a passionate champion for expanding educational opportunities for underserved students and deeply committed to civic engagement.
Scholarship Award: $20,000

Join a network of International students for a day of fun and bowling! All faculty, staff, and students who identify as International are welcomed.

In this hands-on workshop, the authors of "We're Not OK: Black Faculty Experiences and Higher Education Strategies" and podcast hosts of "We're Not OK: A Community of Healing" will take a deep dive into the potential ramifications of racial disparities on belonging. Participants will examine real-life scenarios, engage in self-reflection exercises, and group discussion. Topics covered will include: the difference between inclusion and belonging, workload equity, and advocacy. Everyone will leave with at least one strategy that they can utilize immediately after the session.
