Humanities Professor Explores Hip Hop

Professor Reiland Rabaka’s new book, Hip Hop’s Inheritance, explores the real roots of hip hop, from the Harlem Renaissance to the hip hop feminist movement. Rabaka investigates the evolution of black popular culture throughout history, even through “Obama’s America.” Hip Hop Inheritance is available through Lexington Books.
