External Reviewers

  • PUEC should look at CV for conflicts
  • shouldn't have a conflict of interest (shouldn't have published, edited, etc. with faculty member)
  • should not come from any institution faculty member has received a degree from or have been on a grant proposal.
  • if faculty member has co-written an article with an external reviewer, relationship should be documented
  • it is acceptable if faculty member has organized a workshop, etc. with external reviewer
  • No more than 1/2 of external reviewers should come from faculty list.
  • It is acceptable to have external reviewers come from both faculty and PUEC lists.
  • Faculty member can give PUEC a list of people who shouldn't be asked to serve as an external reviewer. 
  • PUEC should document any sort of questionable relationship between faculty member and external evaluators.
