Congratulations to Dr. Ann Schmiesing! Her 2025 book The Brothers Grimm: A Biography has in recent weeks won two book prizes: the 2025 Wayland D. Hand Prize (American Folklore Society) and the 2025 Katharine Briggs Award (The Folklore Society, UK).

Dr. Schmiesing is Senior Vice Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives and Professor of German Studies.
