Hailey Herman

  • Assistant Director of Professional Development

Hailey serves as the Assistant Director of Professional Development at the Graduate School. In collaboration with the Director of Community and Professional Development, she designs, implements, and assesses programs that support graduate student professional development and academic success. Hailey oversees signature initiatives, including the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, the Graduate Peer Mentoring Program, and Grad+ Writing Support, along with other programs aimed at enhancing graduate student outcomes. She also serves as a key liaison between the Graduate School and campus partners—including the Writing Center, Career Services, Counseling & Psychiatric Services (CAPS), and Health Promotion—to foster a supportive and inclusive environment for graduate students.

Hailey is a Colorado native and received her BA in Journalism & Mass Communication and Psychology from the University of Iowa. Hailey is passionate about working in higher education and being a reliable resource for students. Outside of work you can find Hailey hiking, camping or skiing in the mountains with her husband and sons.
