Derek Silva

Derek Silva began working for the University of Colorado Boulder as Executive Director of Real Estate Services in August 2017. He joined the Finance and Business Strategy team as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Business Strategy in February 2020. He was named Associate Vice Chancellor for Business Strategy in May 2022. In this role, Silva develops new revenue-generating opportunities for the university and serves as executive director for the CU Boulder Enterprise Corporation (CUBEC). Additionally, he provides leadership for the Business Strategy Office and Real Estate Services.

Silva has over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, including time as assistant director of real estate for the University of Texas System (UT) in Austin, Texas.
