Jessica KeatingBrad Weiner, chief data officer and head of the Office of Data Analytics (ODA), announced in an email to staff that Jessica Keating will become the new deputy chief data officer effective November 28, 2022.

“Jess emerged from a very talented group of candidates who applied for this role. Through multiple rounds of interviews and conversations, it was evident that Jess had the vision, expertise, and campus relationships to help all of us thrive,” Brad said. “I want to thank everyone involved with this search and give a special shoutout to the AIM team. Please join me in congratulating Jess!”

Jess most recently held the role of director of the Assessment, Insights and Measurement (AIM) Team in ODA. Prior to joining ODA, she served as the lead associate on the Teaching Quality Framework (TQF) in CU Boulder's Center for STEM Learning. There, she facilitated departments' efforts to improve their teaching assessment practices for use in promotion, tenure, reappointment, and merit processes, and helped shape a broader campus-wide movement to promote high-quality, effective instruction on campus.

Jessica earned her M.A. (2014) and Ph.D. (2017) from the  University of Colorado Boulder in Social Psychology, and her B.A. in Psychology (minor: Public Policy) from Smith College in 2006. From 2006 to 2011, she worked in consulting and strategic research at Greenberg Quinlan Rosner in Washington, DC, on public education campaigns, organizational branding efforts, membership and donor studies, political campaigns, and policy reform initiatives on topics ranging from health to religion to the politics of science.
