Xingrui Zhu

Xingrui is originally from Taishan, Guangdong Province, China. He received his bachelor’s degree at Illinois Institute of Technology, Master of Science at Purdue University, and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Colorado School of Mines before joining the Shields Group in April 2025. His research is focusing on developing shape-morphing micro/nanorobots for biomedical applications using active colloids under applied external fields. In his free time, Xingrui enjoys playing and watching basketball.
