2022 Children's Book Festival Schedule
Thursday, Nov. 3 — Author visits to schools
We have partnered with five schools in Denver Public Schools, St. Vrain Valley School District, Adams 12 Five Star Schools, and Boulder Valley School District to bring an author directly to them! Teachers and students are creating book projects and author studies. They will host the event, and authors will present and meet with students. We are providing schools with book sets featuring the author’s books and related books. If you would like your class and school to be considered for next year’s festival, please email educationevents@colorado.edu.
Friday, Nov. 4 — Virtual Author Panel, open to the public
The Nov. 4 virtual author panel will be live streamed from CU Boulder's Kittredge Multipurpose Rooms. Registration is required to attend our virtual event. Students and teachers from a local school will attend in-person, along with some CU students and community members. If you would like your class to be considered for next year's in-person author event, please email educationevents@colorado.edu. Registration opens soon.
Thank you to the CU Boulder Office of Outreach and Engagement, the School of Education, Boulder Book Store and the publishers of these wonderful books for their generous support of our children’s literature festival. This festival helps us achieve 3 important goals:
- Connect children to authors and books to build reading motivation
- Support teachers' use of children's literature in their classrooms and family reading at home
- Engage School of Education's preservice and in-service teachers in creating educational resources and participating in a literacy outreach event.
Thank you to the CU Boulder Community Outreach and Engagement Programs for their award to support this festival.
