Doctoral Student Researcher
Kate Somerville (she/her/hers) is a doctoral student in the School of Education at the University of Colorado Boulder. Kate holds a M.A. in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. in Public Policy Studies and Political Science from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Prior to starting at CU Boulder, Kate taught 2nd grade in Baltimore City. Her research interests surround youth engaged education policy related to police-free schools and school-based systems of healing, wellness and mental health.
