On average, tap water is 560 times less expensive than bottled water.  When you use a reusable water bottle, you help reduce the production of bottled beverages and therefore, the landfill and recycling burden of the bottles. In the United States in 2006, only 24.7 percent of plastic beverage bottles were recycled, according to the Container Recycling Institute, representing only 1.11 million tons recycled of the 4.47 million tons of bottles sold.

The average coffee drinker throws away 250 cups per year, resulting in the throw away of 58 billion cups per year. It takes 20 million trees and 12 billion gallons of water to produce the paper for these 58 billion cups cups.
