Luis Figueroa

Luis joined Disability Services as the office manager in Jan. 2026. Luis came to CU Boulder shortly after his retirement from active duty, serving 24+ years in the military. His background during his time on active duty was in operations, program management and administrative leadership. He held various positions including department head, office manager, information management officer and faculty advisor for leadership schools. Prior to joining Disability Services, Luis worked with CU Boulder Parking Services, where he gained valuable institutional knowledge of university operations. Luis currently serves on several university committees including the Building Committee, Cone Zone & Outages Committee and National Voter Registration Act Committee. He also serves as the department's liaison for telecommunications, building maintenance and parking permits. His experience living in Okinawa, Japan for five years deepened his appreciation for cultural diversity and international perspectives. Luis's areas of interest include administrative operations’ excellence, data systems management, process improvement, supporting veteran students in higher education and creating inclusive, welcoming environments for diverse student populations. Outside the office, Luis enjoys hiking Colorado's trails, studying Japanese language and culture, spending time with his wife Ambre and staying connected with the veteran community by volunteering with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) organization.
