Goal 3: Academic and administrative units will collaborate to support new and existing community-building initiatives, communicate the imperative of advancing diversity, equity and inclusion, and enhance everyone’s sense of belonging.

Action 1

CMDI will offer seminars focused on bias and disability justice that will bring staff together in shared learning, help staff continue to grow their diversity, equity and inclusion competencies, and provide opportunities to build and grow their personal and professional relationships.

Action 2

CMDI will offer an extended orientation program for all incoming CMDI graduate students that will focus on creating a collegewide cohort, preparing graduate students for academic success and naming the college commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

To build community among faculty, CMDI will create monthly gatherings for all faculty and mechanisms to connect faculty with graduate students in shared research opportunities.
