Guillermo Ramírez

  • (he/him/él)
  • Program Manager for Latiné Students, Intercultural Engagement

Guillermo “Memo” Ramírez is a first-generation, Mexican American, queer male, born in Denver and raised in Aurora, Colorado, by two proud Mexican immigrants from San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Colorado State University and a Master of Arts in Higher Education, with a concentration in Diversity and Higher Learning, from the University of Denver. Before joining CU Boulder in 2021, Memo worked at the University of Denver, the Community College of Aurora and Metropolitan State University of Denver. At CU Boulder, he first served as assistant director of Fraternity & Sorority Life, where he made significant contributions to expanding the Multicultural Greek Council and helped increase awareness and engagement with historically Black fraternities and sororities, known as the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) or the Divine Nine.

Currently, Memo serves as program manager for Latiné students in the Center for Cultural Connections & Community. In this role, he creates spaces where Latiné students feel a true sense of belonging, donde se sienten celebrados y valorados (where they feel celebrated and valued), while working to challenge inequitable systems and foster greater inclusion across campus.

Deeply inspired by his family’s immigrant journey and the challenges they overcame, Memo is passionate about ensuring historically marginalized communities not only access higher education but thrive within it. His mission is clear: to dismantle and transform oppressive systems so they uplift, honor and celebrate those who have long been overlooked.

Outside of work, Memo loves spending time with his familia y seres queridos (family and loved ones), catching up on all things drag (from RuPaul’s Drag Race to La Más Draga), and has recently discovered a love for indoor cycling—45 minutes of going absolutely nowhere and loving every second of it. He also enjoys belting out karaoke con los primos (with the cousins) on a weekend night and being in comunidad (community)
