Alexis Gonzales

Alexis has served as a proud advocate for students at CU since 2021 and comes to us from the Center for Student Involvement where she served as the Coordinator for Cultural Programs and helped foster and create meaningful and inclusive cultural programming across campus. Her passion lies in social justice work and creating opportunities and a sense of reclamation in higher education for underrepresented communities. 

Alexis is passionate about supporting first-generation students and eliminating barriers for marginalized students. She is a first-generation college graduate, a proud product of immigrants and born and raised in Commerce City, CO, with her family and ancestors coming from Mexico. Alexis graduated from CU Boulder with undergraduate degrees in Ethnic Studies and Secondary Education with an emphasis in Multicultural Learning and then obtained her MA in Educational Foundations, Policy and Practice.  

As a woman of color, Alexis is passionate about making a difference and helping provide students with a meaningful and inclusive experience at CU. During her free time, she likes to spend time with family and friends, travel, attend concerts, listen to music and take naps with her pup, Luna.
