Faye Kollig is a fourth year PhD student in the Information Science Department at CU Boulder, advised by Dr. Casey Fiesler. Their current research is focused on ethical use and nonuse of conversational artificial intelligence for companionship and mental health, informed by past experience studying online health communities. Faye grew up in Michigan, and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in Media & Information with a focus in user experience research. In their spare time, they like making collaging, playing video games, collecting thrift store trinkets and petting dogs they meet on walks.
