Laine Zizka is a communication Ph.D. student in the organization communication emphasis. Her primary research interest is crisis communication and the ways in which communities weather crises through communication.
Laine has a master’s in communication studies from the Bob Schieffer College of Communication at Texas Christian University, where she also completed her undergraduate studies in communication, anthropology, and political science. Laine uses all of these academic backgrounds in her research. At TCU, she wrote her thesis on narrative construction of identity and community resilience in Newfoundland, Canada during and after 9/11.
In her free time, Laine is likely jamming out to Broadway musicals, mainlining podcasts, or inhaling the smell of books.
