Founding Director Mark Amerika was recently appointed a CU Professor of Distinction. In January 2018, Professor Amerika published his tenth book, remixthecontext (Routledge). Last fall, The British Computer Arts Society, in conjunction with Ravensbourne and Birbeck universities, sponsored the Beyond GRAMMATRON: 20 Years into the Future international symposium celebrating the 20-year anniversary of Amerika's groundbreaking work of net art, GRAMMATRON.
Lori Emerson delivered a keynote lecture titled "The Undersea Life of Other Networks" at the Format Matters Conference hosted by the Institut für Film, Theater und empirische Kulturwissenschaft at Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz in December 2017. An Interview with Emerson, titled "Media Archeology Lab: Experimentation, Tinkering, Probing. Lori Emerson in conversation with Piotr Marecki," was also published in the Polish journal Przegląd Kulturoznawczy (Fall 2017).
