Steve Rossland
- PostDoctoral Associate
- SPACE DOMAIN AWARENESS
Dr. Steve Rossland received his B.S. In Physics from Boise State University with a dual thesis on the superfluidity/ superconductivity of neutron stars and quantum optomechanical systems. He graduated with his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Utah in 2022. His doctoral thesis focused on X-ray satellite background characterization, the Cosmic X-ray Background, active galactic nuclei population synthesis modeling, and sterile neutrino searches as a solution to dark matter. His graduate research required the implementation of a new data pipeline to handle novel data sources, automated large data handling, and Poisson statistical analysis. Steve now works as a PostDoctoral Associate for the National Security Initiatives in the field of space domain awareness.
