Mr. Ryan Montoya came to Colorado from central California for his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering. When he graduated from CU Boulder in 2017, he was awarded the Chair’s award for outstanding ECEE Graduate, the top award for ECEE graduating seniors. He returns to CU/NSI after 6 years as R&D software engineer in Colorado at defense contractor CACI. When not focusing on his technical studies, he is a self-published author of fictional novels and is an accomplished international mountaineer and rock climber with multiple first ascents in Utah and Colorado. Ryan’s Ph.D. research is on the application of tensor networks in 6G wireless communications, advised by NSI’s Sr. Principal Research Associate, Dr. Brannon. The goal of his research is to improve the security and reliability of wireless communications for commercial and US national needs.
