  • HYPERSONIC SYSTEMS

Connor Morency is a PostDoctoral Associate at the Center for National Security Initiatives (NSI) at the University of Colorado Boulder. His research focuses on high-fidelity computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling of hypersonic flows, with expertise in thermochemical non-equilibrium, turbulence modeling, and shock-capturing techniques. He earned his MS (2022) and PhD (2025) in Aerospace Engineering from CU Boulder, where he developed advanced capabilities in the finite element CFD solver PHASTA. At NSI, Dr. Morency contributes to hypersonics research using the finite volume CFD solver LeMANS for high-speed flight vehicle simulations. He also has experience in international atmospheric physics research and holds a BS (2019) in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
