Kendalia Spencer

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Kendalia Spencer began playing the violin when was 12 after years of pleading with her parents. Her initial struggles with the instrument were transformed into a true love when she began studies with Susan Bret and later with Doris Fukawa. Kendalia currently plays both acoustic and electric violin and is pursuing a violin performance degree under Charles Wetherbee at the University of Colorado Boulder, a business minor, and a certificate of music entrepreneurship. She has attended the Interlochen Violin Summer Institute, Marrowstone Music Festival, Crowden Chamber Music Workshop, and Siena International Music Program. 

As an arts administrator, Kendalia acts as the student coordinator for the annual College of Music event known as Persevering Legacy. She interned at the Seattle Symphony during the 2019 summer as a Community Engagement and Education intern. She is currently serving as the Development and Marketing intern for the Boulder Philharmonic. She is a recent Fellow—as both a musician and arts administrator—at the SphinxConnect 2020 conference.
