  • COLORADO LULLABY PROJECT 2021

The Colorado Lullaby Project is a powerful opportunity to develop familial bonds and intimacy from a child's first days in the world. Through these lullabies, expecting mothers can tell their unique stories and convey their love and devotion through music, a medium that transcends words. I am thrilled and honored to be a part of this special, lasting moment of musical joy for families.

Izzy has received numerous awards and scholarships. In 2013, she placed third in the Hong Kong International Guitar Competition’s Youth Division. In 2018, she graduated as the valedictorian of William J. Palmer High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and received The Gazette’s “Best and Brightest Scholarship.” At the University of Colorado Boulder, Izzy is a full scholarship, thanks to the Daniel and Boyce Sher Colorado Music Scholarship, Diverse Musicians’ Alliance Scholarship, and the President Joseph A. Sewall Scholarship and Nonie Lann Scholarship. Izzy is currently a junior at the University of Colorado Boulder, majoring in classical guitar performance and journalism.

Some of Izzy's recent projects include the George Lynn Memorial Award, transcribing the works of an award-winning CU professor; an internship at the Twisted Spruce Music Foundation, working with emerging composers to premiere new music; and “Persevering Legacy,” an annual concert showcasing female composers. Izzy also serves on the board of directors for the Boulder Guitar Society.

Izzy currently studies with Nicolò Spera, and has also studied with Adam Holzman privately and at the Brevard Summer Institute. Off-stage, Izzy explores other creative passions, including writing and teaching yoga. She is the head arts editor for the CU Independent and also writes for the Boulder-based classical music blog Sharps & Flatirons. She also enjoys spending time with her dog Ash and listening to audiobooks.
