All five 2018-19 Scripps Fellows — Chris Lett, Stephen R. Miller, Peter Brannen, Elizabeth Royte and Hillary Rosner — fielded questions from moderator David Baron and the audience at the Feb. 20 CEJ forum, Journalism in an Age of Distraction. Fellows talked about how they got started, where the craft of journalism is headed and what keeps them going during a time when the news is bleak.
"It was my dream to report in Africa for years, and I finally realized that dream and it's because of being here (in the fellowship) that I was able to do that." — Chris Lett, on his recent experience on assignment in Ethiopia for Mongabay
