          3. Are there any parameters for how acts are selected for the show

            1. Both based on NSA reaching out and students volunteering

            1. 2 day festival where they honor the dead who have passed away (one day for children one day for adults)

          3. Event:

            1. Kitt Multipurpose Room

            2. Brief Presentation about what the festival is and why it is important

            4. Open to the whole community

            5. An opportunity to share experiences about those that have passed away

              1. Using fake candles for safety

          4. Purpose:

            1. Safe space for people to share experiences of loss

            2. Build a stronger and tighter community

            3. Promote Diversity

            4. Ensure that everyone’s voices are heard

            5. Have fun in a way that is cultural as well

      3. 7:45 PM - Left Right Tim Community  Improv  “Learning through Laughter: An Inclusive Comedy Workshop with Left Right TIM ,” November 11th 6:00 PM

        1. Budget Request 

        2. Reminder of our Mission Statement:

          1. The Cultural Events Board aims to broaden cultural knowledge by supporting the voices of underrepresented and misrepresented groups on campus, thereby promoting student engagement with their platforms. The Cultural Events Board encourages opportunities for interaction among students resulting in respect, appreciation, and understanding for cultural differences.

        3. Notes

          1. There is a section for advertising but the only form included is a pdf for catering. 

          2. Event is focused on bringing in multicultural talent that isn’t represented in the comedy space

          3. Event will be a workshop that teaches the basics of improv comedy

          4. Also focused on using the tools of improv comedy to have conversations of identity, culture, and creating a safe space to share experiences

          5. Event will conclude with an open stage for students to showcase their new skills

          6.

          1. How will the students that come to the event be able to be more involved in your improv troupe

            1. Support new members till the spring audition

          2. How are you incorporating diversity, equity and inclusion into the actual event? 

          3. Would you say that your event’s success is dependent upon the attendance of cultural groups/orgs or others and the collaboration of other groups? And if so, if the groups or other groups aren’t guaranteed to attend how can you make sure your event is still successful?

            1. The event is focused on developing tools to share experiences and talking about difficult issues

            2. Also focused on making the improv community less homogenous

          4. How do you plan to ensure that these underrepresented/misrepresented voices are present at your event?

            1. What is the specific plan to ensure that those voices are “heard”?

              1. Plan to also listen to the leaders of other student organizations on what could help in regards to working with them

              2. Event is also focused on clear communication and speaking and listening

              3. Ensure that groups are small enough for everyone to get a chance to share

            1. Reached out to around 12 groups

            3. Groups are focused on both geographic origin and personal identity

          6. How can you ensure that you have facilitators that have experience in leading discussions about topics such as the ones you have mentioned

            1. Co-leaders will be main facilitators

            2. Leaders from other organizations will also be included in the facilitation of the event

          1. Looks like the event is focused on the second clause in our mission statement

          2. This feels like it is somewhat reliant on our help and on other orgs and people that show up to make their event culturally relevant and inclusive (kinda like make or break)

          1. Diwali is one the major festivals in India that is the festival of light, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance

          2. Expecting around 500 people

          6. Mission: Share Indian Culture and give indian students a sense of belonging 

          7. Collaborating with other orgs like SASA

          1. How will you make sure that there is no food waste

            1. Takeaway food is a fine line, have them contact their CSI liaison (Alexis) to talk about this

          1. Warn them that there is another event happening on the same day

          2. Org is registered as a new organization

            1. They have been told that they cannot do placeholder quotes and replace them later

              1. They’ve been good about this since being told, but we should be careful going forward

      1. How do we want to advertise for it? Are we getting any grad student applications?

        1. Josh Sun is a grad student now, could we ask him? -Taylor 

    7. Timesheets: hourly members

      1. Make sure to log your hours as you do them and what counts as hours.

      2. Anything that does not count as hours is anything the whole Board participates in (ex: tabling, postering, events, meetings, etc).

      3. What counts as hours 

      4. Make sure you are logging them in the spreadsheet.

    1. First Funding Cycle 

      1. CU Gaming “Press Start 2022,” September 10th 6:00pm-10:00pm

        1. Advertising

          1. Org was slow in getting us their marketing, which meant it was slow to go out

          2. Marketing was not clearly visible online or on campus 

          3. Marketing was done through discord

        2. Logistics

          1. Audio issues before their live gaming event with commentary

            1. Led to a slight delay in the execution

          2. Had one computer go out halfway through their event

          3. Late to reach out to some student orgs 

        3. Content

          1. Had three rooms

              1. Computers, VR, and main stage

              1. Three tables where people could play 

            3. Smash Bros.

              1. ~12 stations where people could play with/against others

          2. Live League game with commentary from professional casters

          1. Reach out to other orgs earlier so that they have time to get there and table

          2. Maybe start the Keynote later so that more people can view it (as people tend to show up late)
