          1. In the event we do not approve funding, would you move funding from your other two days?

            1. It would be possible, but hard, would need more funds

            2. Speaker they are bringing is the first man to wear a turban in the army

              1. Contract not signed, but confirmed they could come

          2. Would you have to condense the three events to one event, could you do that and how? Instead of having a Sikh week, it would be a Sikh day

            1. Boulder has never had a turban night

            2. Pairing up with organizations that are adding different funds to the event

            3. Want the week to be more informative and inclusive

          3. How long would the Dj be performing for Friday?

            1. He would be performing 6-12.

          4. How important is it for the success of your event to not have a DJ?

            1. Can have a cheaper DJ, but is essential for success of the event.

          5. How many people are you expecting to show up for the first day?

            1. Estimating a 1000 people

            2. CWA will bring a lot of people who want to learn about Sikhism

          6. How would you advertise for the events?

            1. Pamphlets, and posters

            2. People can get a turban tied with a picture, and then as they are being tied their purpose is explained.

          7. What were the numbers for Turbans in Lungar?

            1. 100 small turbans, 200 medium turbans, 250 larger turbans, all of the turbans were gone, people enjoyed the turbans immensely

          8. In Lungar there were lack of signs and direction for station, how would you ensure people know what they are seeing and will not miss anything we are funding?

            1. In Farrand field where a lot of people can see the event occurring

          9. Are you going to have titled stations?

            1. Intentions not to have a chronological event. Each event now has a specific purpose with one activity.

            2. Every single event has one event and one purpose

          10. With is being CWA week, have you thought of ways to attract students instead of community members?

            1. Advertising for the event around campus, and acknowledging knowing it is not CWA. Professors are offering extra credit for attendance

          11. Is there a way to keep track of students attending the event?

            1. Want to make sure students are coming first and wants to make sure all people get to experience, but no community members giving out the turbans

            2. If someone wants to keep their turban, they will, but will only give it if people understand the importance of the turbans

          12. What are the instruments for and why are they expensive?

            1. Yes, it is for prayer night

          13. Why was the budget late?

            1. Waiting to hear from speakers before submitting the budget request, wanted accurate prices

            2. Very sorry and hope it did not cause additional stresses, more of an internal conflict in the organization so that the Sikh Student Association wanted temple officials and community members approval for the event. Walking carefully, too carefully, they apologize

          14. What is it that you can live without? What do you absolutely need, what do you need want?

            1. Willing to cut the movie night, and willing to reconsider speakers if there is not a student discount

          15. What are you willing to let go of individual items in the budget? Where are the lines?

            1. Can individually cook, but cannot cut any religious ceremonies.

              1. Not willing to sacrifice head scarfs or chimes

      2. 6:30pm - SKY @ CU Boulder “SKY Campus Happiness Program Retreat”  April 12th-14th @ UMC 245 -  Victor and  Mavjuda

        1. Notes

          1. Important components in Indian culture is yoga and spirituality includes meditation

          2. Only through spirituality can all people be connected

            1. Sky retreat gives an authentic experience of family

          3. After experiencing this workshop he was able to learn more of the importance of body, mind and spirit, not just postures

            1. Helping students be stress free

          4. Keeping one’s mind fit and finding control provided him the experience of peace that the gym could not give him

          5. Sky prizes diversity because spirituality is family and yoga connects people

            1. Banana - people while holding onto the skin, forgets what is inside

          6. Sky practices yoga that is over the world internationally

          7. Event held in India which includes dance forms, songs which focused on yoga and meditation; it is heterogenous

          1. Have you held an event familiar to this before?

            1. Yes

          2. What were the effects or positive aspects of this event?

            1. Students discovered a world in which they no longer harbored stress and were able to connect with other people. They learned the 3 components of yoga

            2. Allows people who have experienced it, develop a sense of leadership

          3. Is the event taught by teachers?

            1. Yes

          4. Are the teachers Indian, or are you learning about Indian culture?

            1. The teachers are diverse and you do learn of ancient literature with background of information

          5. Can you explain in terms of what students will get out of the program that has a cultural or diversity theme?

            1. People will learn Indigenous techniques used in yoga that have belonged to India over 2000 years ago. Practices have been passed down for hundreds of years

            2. Teaches lessons od dedication to peace

          6. Why is worth of 3,500?

            1. It is the fee for 50 students to go

            2. Original price is $200, the working group have heavily discounted the prices for students

          7. You hosted this event last December?

            1. Yes

          8. What is the purpose of hosting the event again if you have already done the course?

            1. People got a lot out of it and want to do it again

          9. Only 20 people signed up last time?

            1. Yes

          10. How are you going to ensure that 50 people attend?

            1. Can organize in a few weeks, have already found 45 people who are interested in attending

          11. Last time we asked you how would you select people to go, and 30 people in the organization are already going. What is the importance of recruiting people outside the group?

            1. Want to give people outside the group with no experience or techniques.

          12. How do people sign up?

            1. People apply in which they will undergo an application process to receive the scholarship. By using this method last time, they had 100% attendance

          1. Also a Yoga Club on campus that does the same things, and there is no limit for the Yoga Club retreats for events

          2. Cost of head is high

            1. Thank you so much, Christina! We appreciate the accommodation and will make sure to send you the updated information by the weekend. As we are just now starting to invite speakers (and preparing for an appointment with Chancellor DiStefano to arrange his participation) we may not be able to meet your requirement to have these confirmations. But we will send what we have. If we could secure the funding for all of the other items (advertising/outreach, printing, parking passes, and food/coffee) through CEB, this would be a huge help. This is our 6th annual event, and we are determined to make it the best yet!

          1. Great social media presence - did a countdown to their event with information about performers

          1. There was a lot of variety in performances, so the pacing of the event was really good

          2. The video skit this year was very dramatic

        3. Logistics

          1. Started 20 minutes late, but because there was a still a line of people waiting to get in

          2. Main performers (Hue Thy & Will Jay) performed very late in the evening; a good number of the audience had already left

        4. Future

          1. Maybe plan to have main acts perform earlier in the evening
