Questions
Are you allocating money for students to attend the event?
Yes, we are engaging in asking students to attend, cannot make the money used for students since it is not their event.
Want to cover travel fees for people who cannot come
If CEB was to not fund your event, where would you receive the money?
Would use sponsor fee and student pay to pay for the event. If total not covered, they will have to increase students price
What is money for?
Money is fro keynote speaker and students who would to attend the event who cannot afford it
Will allocate money on a first come first serve basis
For this budget, is it your first night for the Conference?
$2,000 has already been confirmed for the keynote
Will use extra money in the budget they are asking for (they overestimated how much money they need by $2000) will go for audio and video costs
What is the cost per person to attend the conference and how much is the cost of booking space in the conference?
$70 per person to enter
Majority from registration fees
If they were to receive CEB funding though, then it would lower costs
Are only 150 students allowed to enter the conference for free?
Students who are volunteering their time to the conference are having their fees paid for. Want 60-70 volunteers for the event
150 students will get their fee covered
75 will have their fees covered because they are volunteers

SOR
Finance Board - asked for $30,000
Was given $50,000
Tough decisions to be made, be as diligent as possible
We might not fund a couple of events
Many cost centers have asked for additional funds so SOR knows there are needs
Old Business
Fifth Funding Cycle
6:30pm - Tau Psi Omega “Speaker” April 29th @ Glenn Miller Ballroom - Chidera and Jemil
Notes
Multicultural fraternity
Speaker event want to bring Justin Bell
Plays Rafael in Jane the Virgin, a director, wants to dismantle toxic masculinity
Men taught a script that oftentimes hurts women, want to bring Justin to campus to change toxic masculinity atmosphere, can teach people the importance of vulnerability
Justin was doing a speaker event at Stanford, he said he would come to CU
Personally motivated him to pursue this event
Funding:
Speaker - $50,000
Airfare - $4,000
Facility Rental - $1,000
Questions
If CEB chooses to fund this event, the event will be a collaboration between Tau Psi Omega and CEB since the speaker funds exceed $10,000. Is this something your organization comfortable with?
Yes, they are comfortable with a collaboration
If CEB did not fund you for this speaker, who would be your second option?
They did not find a second speaker.
They asked: What is the likelihood of being Justin being denied?
Cannot tell you that.
Were you able to reserve Macky Auditorium?
Need CEB to help reserve Macky, since it is a $10,000 fee to reserve
How are you going to guarantee that men identified students attend this event?
Are already doing a workshop with MESA to help men. Are going to use personal networks and advertising, tabling to advertise
They have trouble having men recognize them as fraternities garner a lot of attention
With the date of the event close to finals week, would you be open to choosing another date for your event?
Thinking about the dates available for these dates
April 29th is on Monday, small leeway of time before finals
Hoping that the pressure students are experiencing will lead them to the event, or people will not study till later
Would you feel comfortable if this event was moved to the Macky Auditorium?
They would feel comfortable.
Have you gone to a finance board for funding of your event?
No, not yet, but it is an option. Have not had a lot of awareness of other financial boards
Do you think this is a better event to come to in the fall?
Thinking about this event to do this semester last semester.
Wanted to plan another event for Planned Parenthood for awareness of sexual health, but felt driven to have the event in the Spring
Can be promising to hold in the Fall due to new semester Freshman
Have you had a discussion if he could come next Fall?
Has not come up, can ask. He thought since a lot of openings were in Glenn Miller that it would be a good time
They ask: How can I be involved and help you?
First funding cycle is in July for an event in September.
Can you provide us with the schedule of your event?
Move to approve Tau Psi Omega for cultural relevance
Tau Psi Omega is culturally relevant due to the desire to disrupt toxic masculinity and introduction of vulnerability to male identified students, and creates advocates for women.
Cultural Relevance Statement:
Motion passes 9-0-2
Motion to move discussion to retreat

Questions for them
VeRVE Collisionz “12th Annual VeRVE Collisionz Street Dance Competition” April 20th @ Glenn Miller Ballroom - Jemil and Hayden
Responses:
Who would you choose as your second performer should your first performer be denied, and what would the price of that performer be?
Regarding our performers, our exhibition team is the most important part of our event. They are at the forefront of it all as we showcase them throughout the entire event. We rely on them to hold a workshop and also professionally judge the competition. We would like that team to be Str8jacket, as they are nationally renowned. We also did not look into other teams because we are extremely keen in having Str8jacket as our exhibition team this year. We are willing to compromise on other areas of our budget this year, so CEB can approve Str8jacket to be our exhibition team.

We can confirm two out of three of the locations of the event, the Conference of World Affairs is still talking with EPC for our final day.

Graduate Musicology Society “Haitian-Creole Music and Culture with Speakers” April 19th @ Old Main Chapel and Koenig Alumni Center - Hayden and Helen
Responses:
Is the second speaker holistically needed for the success of your event?
We consider Jayme Stone’s involvement to be essential to the overall impact of our event. Not only has Stone acted as a liaison between GMS and several other artists, Leyla being the only one available, but he is also a well-known public figure in the Front Range folk music scene. Stone’s involvement means increasing exposure for CU Boulder and CEB and is a key networking figure in this project. We also envision Stone as a mediator between academia and the folk music scene, thus increasing engagement of the student population. This is evident in Downbeat magazine’s description of Stone as a “consummate team player” with the unique ability to bridge gaps between intellectual and musical minds, and older and younger generations through collaborative projects.
How are you getting your food from Loveland delivered here or what is the processing of transportation?

Advertising
Nice overall design/scheme for the vibe of the event it really showed at the actual event
Provided two different flyers one for online and one to be posted on campus
Did it with time and efficiency
I saw posters in every single building I am in
Content
Overall competition was engaging, entertaining, and exciting
Competitors although competing with each other showed a good sense of community and good moral
Range in participants for the competition. Ranging from kids around nine years of age to mid-twenties.
Music was hype and definitely enhanced the event itself
Plenty of community members
AMAZING!!!
Life changing event
Logistics
Did well with budgeting and coordinating throughout their own board.
Always had a back up plan for everything if anything went wrong
Ended ahead of schedule (prepared for any issues that would conflict with scheduling of event)
Actually impressed with how well the event ran due to how much tasks and responsibility each team member had to take on.
No vendors!
Future
Give more time for advertisement
Make campus more aware of what a, “Rocker’s Rumble” is all about
Have more students attend event
Explanation or educational piece incorporated into the event
Emergency
One of the judges had a family emergency and James personally paid for his ticket to go back home
Was the judge already paid for?
Assuming he was not paid despite lodgings prices
Group was under budget
Changed the flight, judge still performed and fulfilled obligations

Meeting was held with DSB last week regarding more of the logistics for VD event as well as how both boards will contribute to a successful event
Potentially discussed hosting a meeting with both boards on Wednesday, 3/20 to discuss RoD as well as roles, responsibilities, and expectations. Meeting would be fully catered and potentially hosted at 6pm...let us know your availability
4 people would be able to make it
Talked a bit more during the meeting about how reception would be held, potential announce date for the event (either a day before or after Oscars, so potentially 2/22 or 2/25)
Leaning till after Oscars
Meeting with Strategic Relations on Friday and working out game plan for TB and VD
Thank you for your feedback regarding the VD poster as revisions are being sent to Catherine/marketing team via Erin!
Exec board meeting was held this past Friday regarding overall layout of CEB events for the semester, ticketing, announcements, etc, and with VD and TB coming the same month, exec team came up with announcing VD and TB a week apart, as well as ticketing.
Ticketing for VD 3/11-3/15
Ticketing for TB 3/18-3/22 (can sell VD during this week if necessary)
Hoping to sell out of VD tickets
TB 4/1- 4/5 if necessary
Since there would be a gap between now and April for when speakers would be coming through CEB’s end, I was wanting to see if we’d like to entertain the idea of bringing back Isra Chaker into our discussion. As we have been focused on bringing female-identified speakers this semester as well as have gone above budget with our funds already, she would be the most financially feasible as well as would cover a mass array of topics the board has expressed interest in seeing these past speakers discussions (also can cover the refugee crisis, or how to be an activist/advocate during the Trump era). Would potentially be a small March event in an effort to celebrate Women’s Herstory Month...thoughts?
An intentionally smaller event
Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences expressing interest in bringing Emma Fay Rudkin to campus...thoughts?
Typically, people can reach out to CEB and this individual sent this email to 20 different people on campus
Involved in young life, would be part of message
Table until retreat
Assistant Speakers Coordinator
Working on scheduling the screenings. I saw the suggestions from last week, and I’m leaning towards Widows for one of the showings and for the second one, I would like it to be more centered around sexual violence in current day society or the #MeToo movement itself.
Leaning towards February 27th (Widows) and March 6th or 13th. Any suggestions for dates that would work better?
Man Enough Trailer I’m not sure how I feel about this. Not a movie, it’s an hour long episode from Wayfarer Entertainment. I like the people involved, but this is really the only trailer I can find so I don’t really have a great idea of what all is going to covered.
The Hunting Grounds
About rape on college campuses
The Reckoning: Hollywood’s Worst Kept Secret Trailer I like this because, since sexual assault was finally being acknowledged in Hollywood, it led to huge shifts in the conversation we in society have about sexual assault and what needs to be done about it. Also, the conversation starting in Hollywood really sparked the awareness of the #MeToo movement and started the Times Up movement as well.
