About

Casey received his B.S. from University of California Davis in 2013 and his M.S. from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2015. Casey completed his Ph.D. in 2021 at University of Colorado Boulder in the Ann and HJ Smead Aerospace Engineering Sciences Department. His prior research interests include numerical methods in optimal control and regularization theory applied to hypersonic entry optimization and conceptual design. Casey’s current research involves Space Domain Awareness (SDA), including statistical estimation and pattern recognition for unowned space objects in data sparse environments. Outside of work, his personal interests include hiking, rock climbing, piano, and Rubik’s speedcubing.
