How to meet with a pre-health advisor this Fall 2021

Throughout fall 2021, virtual appointments for health professions advising will be offered through small group advising. You can attend small group advising sessions multiple times—content will be tailored to the students in attendance. The small groups provide a variety of benefits including:

  • Hearing and learning from other students in attendance
  • Gaining a greater perspective on your unique experience
  • Hearing questions from others you might not think to ask
  • Building community and connection to students with similar professional goals and interests

If you have the pre-health designation on your record in Buff Portal Advising, you will find this option within the Health Professions section of the portal. If you do not have the pre-health designation yet, contact our office either through LiveChat or by calling 303-492-6541 during our business hours, Monday–Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to schedule an appointment.

Depending on where you are in your journey, you can select a group that aligns with your questions. You can attend a small-group as often as needed to ensure you have the information you need:

  1. Health Professions Foundations - Designed to orient first and second year students to the foundations and essentials for students interested in pre-health professions. Students can ask questions about pre-requisites, health careers, how to gain experience on- and off-campus, and other topics related to pre-health.
  2. Health Professions Advanced Essentials - Tailored for juniors, seniors, and alum and is customized to support the needs and questions students have. Students and alum can ask their questions about preparing and applying to a health professions graduate program.
