From Dr. Sujith Ravi,

I have a graduate student opening (PhD) for studying soil moisture dynamics and sediment transport in saline/sodic agricultural soils. We (collaborators: Paolo D'Odorico, UC Berkeley and Scott van Pelt, USDA-ARS) will investigate fundamental soil hydrological and geomorphic processes involved in soil salinization and provide a new mechanistic framework for their explanation.

The student will be advised by Sujith Ravi (Temple University, PA). Master’s degree in geology, geophysics, environmental engineering, with strong interests in earth surface/soil processes is preferred. Experience or interest in numerical modeling or other quantitative analysis is preferred. The student will be fully funded by research and/or teaching assistantships.
