Introducing the Computational Biology Minor
Introducing: the Computational Biology Minor (CBIO-min)
- It’s offered through Engineering as a partnership between the Dept. of Computer Science and BioFrontiers Institute
- Open to any undergrad student, but fits well with majors/students with a biological/environmental/medical interest
- There are FOUR courses that contribute to the CBIO-minor planned for Spring 21, so you could make good progress quickly with proper planning!
- Here’s the WEBPAGEhttps://www.colorado.edu/biofrontiers/cbiominor (with a link to an interest form) AND the EMAIL ADDRESS (cbiominor@colorado.edu)
- An advisor will reach out and share other resources, and set up an individual meeting after you submit the interest form from the webpage
What will I learn in the minor?
- Computational biology concepts and experimental techniques
- Representing and understanding biological data and patterns
- Biologically relevant skills in applied math, data science & statistics, and computing
- Modeling and predicting biological processes and dynamics
- Biological phenomena under uncertainty with probabilistic and statistical analyses.
