We have some changes to the course offerings for the MCDB department for spring. These courses are still in the process of being added to the class schedule for spring semester.

MCDB 3330: Personlized Medicine
Time for personalized medicine is now. Attempts to learn from and put the patient/person back into the equation becausepersonalized medicine, at its worst, does nothing personal at all. Discusses historical perspective, recent advances in molecularbiology and medicine (including OMICS) in regards to diagnostics and therapeutics for selected human diseases, and what the futureholds for personalized medicine. Guest lectures (medical experts, patients, family members) will further enrich the course. Pre-req:MCDB2150/EBIO 2070/Instructor consent.
MCDB 3450 Biological Data Science
The central function of data science is to extract information from complex datasets.Biology is an increasingly large-data endeavor with health care records, genomics datasets, and extensive imaging. This course willdevelop core data science skills, including statistical analysis, visualization, data management, machine learning, and modeling. Prereq: MCDB 2150 (minimum grade C-).
