I grew up in the the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain range in Eastern Kentucky. I moved to Boulder in 2010 to pursue a PhD in linguistics. I am a PhD student in the Linguistics Department at CU Boulder. I grew up in Colorado and I'm a first-generation student myself, which has presented unique challenges as I achieve my academic and career goals. Those challenges, while difficult, have brought knowledge that I now get to share through B2G. As a researcher, I focus on the linguistic practices of internet subcultures.
