Scholarship event unites donors and recipients

The College of Arts and Sciences hosted the annual Scholarship Celebration on Oct. 25, in the Glenn Miller Ballroom in the University Memorial Center at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Dean Steven R. Leigh welcomed the group of 136 student scholarship recipients and 38 scholarship donors in the largest celebration of student success and the donor support in the event’s recent history.

The event provided an opportunity for many of the students to meet the donors who made their scholarships possible, and for the donors to connect with their scholarship recipients.

Students Josephina Hendrix (MCDB ‘16), Pawel Janas (ECON & Applied Math ‘16) and Caitlin McShane (GEOG ‘16) each spoke about the impact their scholarships have had on their ability to pursue their academic dreams and interests.

Jean Hodges, center, with son Ben Hodges behind her, celebrate with recipients of the Jack Hodges Scholarship Fund. Jack Hodges was a professor in CU-Boulder's Department of Mathematics from 1960 to 1995.
