Old Main Chapel – December 20, 2019:

The University of Colorado Boulder Army ROTC Department Commissioned four Cadets during the fall 2019 ceremony on Friday, December 20th. The guest speaker was former PMS and now current Director of the Presidents Leadership Class here at CU-Boulder, retired Lieutenant Colonel Aaron Roof. The ceremony was emceed by Cadet Jack Bell with the Invocation read by Cadet Ben Antonsen. Opening remarks were given by the current PMS, Lieutenant Colonel Mark Van Gelder. While the Oath of Office was respectfully addressed by Major Joshua James.

The four Cadets that are now officially Second Lieutenant’s in the United States Army, are as follows:

  1. 2LT David Kraynik – from Charlotte, North Carolina, majored in Integrative Physiology and commissioned into Military Intelligence, branch detail Armor
  2. 2LT Nazareth Ng – from El Paso, Texas, majored in Civil Engineering and commissioned into the Corps of Engineers
  3. 2LT Michael Pelletiere – from Carol Stream, Illinois, majored in International Affairs and commissioned into the Chemical Corps
  4. 2LT Tavish Whelan – from Parker, Colorado, majored in Environmental Studies and commissioned into Military Intelligence

Congratulations to our new Second Lieutenant’s. May your new experiences with the U.S. Army be as rich and fulfilling as they were here at CU-Boulder.
