Juliana Barstow
- NSF Graduate Research Fellow
My name is Juliana Barstow, and I am a graduate student interested in developing astronomical instrumentation for space-based missions. Currently, I am still exploring which subfield to pursue this in, but at the moment, I am most interested in solar and stellar physics.
I received a BS in Astrophysics and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from New Mexico Tech, where I primarily researched lunar robotics and data analysis for symbiotic stars. I also completed three back-to-back summer internships through an REU program at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. During these internships, I worked under Dr. Christopher S. Moore, characterizing back-illuminated CMOS detectors for the SSAXI Rocket mission, which launched in April 2024.
