In collaboration with the BioFrontiers Institute, the Precision Biomaterials IRT is pleased to co-sponsor the 2018 “Regenerative BioX”, scheduled for Thursday, August 16 & Friday, August 17, 2018.  The event includes a half-day symposium featuring 6 science and engineering leaders in specific areas of interest, followed by a series of working group sessions involving ~100 participants from diverse fields and sectors, to discuss grand challenges and opportunities in three key domains:

  1. Advances in the chemistry and processing of precision biomaterials
  2. In vitro tissue and disease models
  3. Manipulating tissue regeneration and biological responses in vivo.

  Regenerative BioX

We hope that these discussions will capture a snapshot of current progress, but more importantly, address where the field is going in a way that can be summarized at the end of the event and  documented in a perspective piece or review article for publication in an appropriate venue.  We hope to establish distinct collaborative clusters of participants who together, have the collective interests and expertise needed to tackle the challenges and seize the opportunities that emerge from these discussions and can continue collaborating long after the workshop is over.

Please take a moment to check out the website for this event, where you will find the schedule and information about our speakers.  We anticipate that many of you will be interested in attending the symposium presentations, which are scheduled for Thursday, August 16, 8:30 am – 3:25 pm (including a break for lunch), at JSCBB in the Butcher Auditorium (A100), so please mark your calendars accordingly.  The remainder of the event will be devoted to working group sessions, and we encourage the IRT faculty to participate in the working group sessions as well as the presentations.   Registration will be available soon via the symposium website.
