Ella Lazarte has over fifteen years of international experience working on private enterprise development issues across different regions (Africa, Latin America, and Asia), particularly on aspects of water and sanitation. Currently she is working as a Water and Sanitation advisor at USAID and Water and Sanitation Specialist at the World Bank.

As a Water and Sanitation Specialist at the World Bank, she co-developed and guided different Water and Sanitation Program`s, being responsible for water supply and sanitation in small cities and towns, particularly in developing institutional capacity and developing and testing models for private sector participation. She provides technical leadership and advice for market-based solutions to global water and sanitation challenges and is involved in building up strategic pillars such as domestic private sector participation and scaling up rural sanitation.
