Come and participate in CU's largest day of service with the Volunteer Resource Center as we host our annual Better Boulder Day of Service. Students, Faculty and Staff are invited to spend the day working with various organizations to complete a service project in the Boulder/Denver area. Last year over 350 students and groups signed up to participate! Service projects are all different and focus around various social and environmental justice issues that are occurring in our communities. In the past we have participated in projects ranging from trail restoration, organization of donation centers, building projects, and landscaping. This one day service project is an easy way to learn more about the amazing people and organizations in the community who are working to combat social and environmental issues.

Due to weather conditions some sites have unfortunately been cancelled. Participants have been notified individaully of the changes that affect them. We are making an effort to still accomodate everyone who is signed up. If you are signed up and have questions about which site you are now signed up for please contact the events team at vrcevents@colorado.edu. The following organizations will still be hosting projects for the event:

- A Precious Child

- Centaurus High School

- Community Food Share

- Spring into CU (Teach for America)

- TRU Hospice Thrift Shop

- Wild Bear Mountain Ecology Center

- Medicine Horse Program

 

Information for Volunteers:

- Check in will be in UMC 235 and will run from 8:15 - 8:45am (April 29th, 2017)

- Please bring your BuffOne card or your student ID number

- Each participant will receive a free breakfast, lunch and t-shirt at check-in

- Transportation will be provided to each site for every participant

- Please make sure to dress appropriately for the weather, wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, shirts with sleeves, and generally clothes you dont mind getting a little dirty (i.e. paint, mud, etc.)

- Make sure to bring a filled water bottle (you can also fill your bottle before departure from the UMC)

- Those on the waitlist are still encouraged to show up on time as we anticipate being able to accomodate everyone and we will be giving away spaces based on who signs in with us in the moring on a first-come-first-served basis
