After six extraordinary years of service, John Bennett is stepping down as Faculty Director of the University of Colorado Boulder ATLAS Institute. Under John’s leadership, ATLAS has launched a professional M.S. degree in Information and Communication Technology for Development, grown its Ph.D. program in Technology, Media and Society from two to nearly 20 students and grown its popular certificate and minor in Technology, Arts and Media (TAM) from about 250 to about 800 undergraduates.

The ATLAS Institute is a campus and national resource for international development, inclusion and applications of technology for learning and society. The ATLAS director reports to Dean John Stevenson of the Graduate School, and the College of Engineering and Applied Science and Dean Robert Davis oversees its academic programs.

Nominations, including self-nominations, are now being sought for the next director. Names of candidates along with short statements of rationale should be submitted by July 10, 2013 to both robert.davis@colorado.edu and john.stevenson@colorado.edu. Bennett has agreed to remain in the position for an interim period while a new director is sought.
