Local students were among about 3,800 receiving degrees May 16 in outdoor ceremonies at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

The Chancellor’s Recognition Award for students receiving all A’s in their college careers was given to Shawn Timothy Stone of Monument, who received a bachelor of science in electrical and computer engineering. Stone, a graduate of Rampart High School in Colorado Springs, also was named Outstanding Graduate of the College of Engineering and Applied Science.

Other outstanding graduates named by their schools and colleges were Joseph Nathan Geiger of Moscow, Idaho, bachelor of environmental design (Architecture and Planning); Katherine Ann Potter of Rifle, bachelor of fine arts in theater and bachelor of arts in English (Arts and Sciences) and Brook Elaine DeHaro of Greenwood Village, bachelor of science in finance (Business and Administration).

Also named as outstanding graduates were Clark David Dollard of Solana Beach, Calif., bachelor of arts in mathematics (Education); Shawn Timothy Stone of Monument, bachelor of science in electrical and computer engineering (Engineering and Applied Science); Ann Marion Hill of Eagle, bachelor of science in journalism (Journalism and Mass Communication) and Emily Anne Bowman of Eldorado Springs, bachelor of music (Music).
