The following statement was issued this morning by University of Colorado President John C. Buechner.

“First of all, I want to say I am very satisfied with the thorough planning and organization undertaken by the Boulder campus community for the visit of chancellor candidate Dr. John Moseley. Over the last three days, constituent groups from every sector of the campus community have had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Moseley at length, and I am told that these meetings have been productive and informative.

“Following the visit and interview process of our second candidate, CU-Boulder Interim Chancellor Dr. Richard Byyny, I will be seeking direct feedback from the various groups and individuals who have met with each of the candidates. On Monday, April 28 at 10:00 a.m., I will meet in my office with representatives of campus constituent groups. At 11:00 a.m., I will follow up by meeting with the chancellor search committee. I also will be talking at length with the other chancellors and the regents in the days to come in order to obtain their evaluations of the candidates.

“I want to encourage any one who has met with the candidates to provide direct input to me in writing at: John C. Buechner, President, University of Colorado, Campus Box 35,Boulder, CO 80309, or by e-mail at John.Buechner@colorado.edu.

Individuals may also contact their faculty, staff, student and alumni representatives to offer their evaluations of the candidates. These evaluations can then be forwarded to my office.

“Finally, I want to assure our entire campus community that the appointment of a CU-Boulder chancellor is my top priority, and that my focus is on providing the most effective, dynamic, and visionary leadership possible for the campus. Each of these excellent candidates will be given a fair, thorough, and complete review that encompasses the collective wisdom of the entire CU community.”
