The University of Colorado at Boulder Friends of the Libraries will present an evening of desserts and wines with a panel of local mystery writers at 7:30 p.m. March 14 in the Fleming Law Building on campus.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the CU-Boulder libraries.

Authors featured at the benefit will include Christine Jorgensen, Leslie O’Kane, and Ann Ripley.

Jorgensen writes a mystery series featuring Stella, a sleuth who also writes her own horoscope column. Jorgensen is the winner of the 1995 Colorado Writer of the Year award and currently is working on a novel titled “Death of a Dustbunny.”

O’Kane writes a mystery series featuring protagonist Molly Masters, a cartoonist who becomes an amateur sleuth.

The star sleuth of Ripley’s novels is Louise Eldridge, an organic gardener and foreign service wife with a flair for mystery. “Death of a Garden Pest,” the second book in the Louise Eldridge series, will be available in paperback this spring.

Reservations can be made by calling 492-8275. Tickets also are available at the Rue Morgue Mystery Book Shop in Boulder. Cost is $20. Free parking is available at the law school during the event.
