Incoming freshman and transfer students are welcome to start their CU Boulder careers in summer. The first step in the application process is to create a MyCUBoulder portal account to access the online admission application. You may choose to use either the University of Colorado Boulder application or the Common Application to apply; CU Boulder does not prefer one application over another. We only ask that you choose only one application format and use it all the way through to submission process.
Keep in mind that application requirements will vary depending on your student category (i.e. incoming freshmen vs. transfer student vs. international student). Be sure to verify on the CU Boulder Admissions website which additional materials are necessary to complete your particular application. Student applications are reviewed in the order in which they are completed, which includes a submitted application and the receipt of all required documents.
The deadline for summer applications is January 15 for freshmen and March 1 for transfer students.
Visit the CU Boulder Admissions page for more information, including specific application requirements and instructions. If you have additional questions or need help, contact Admissions staff at firstname.lastname@example.org or 303-492-6301.
Note: Admitted transfer students may enroll in any of the sessions offered in summer; admitted freshman may take classes in Sessions A-D, but not in Maymester or Augmester.
If you are a new applicant for graduate study, you should consult with your department for appropriate application forms and instructions.
Interested in taking CU Boulder summer classes, but not currently working towards a degree? If so, you may apply to the university as a nondegree student.
Prospective nondegree students should be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma to apply. If you are a high school student interested in the challenge of taking university classes, visit the High School Students section for more information about how to take summer classes at CU Boulder.
Nondegree applicants should complete and submit the Online Enrollment Application for Continuing Education. If you intend to take undergraduate summer classes—even if you already have a bachelor’s or master’s degree—make sure to choose “Undergraduate” as your status on the application. Otherwise you will be charged the graduate tuition rate and will not be eligible to use the College Opportunity Fund.
Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an email confirming receipt. If your application is approved, you will receive a student identification number to activate your Identikey and search/enroll in classes via MyCUInfo.
You can also download the fillable Enrollment Registration PDF and fax, mail, or deliver in person to:
