Research Interests: Pain modulation systems; immune and glial regulation of neuronal function; immune-to-brain communication; glial regulation of pain, opioid analgesia, drugs of abuse, learning/memory, and neuronal excitability; stress-induced regulation of brain and behavior; novel approaches to controlling chronic pain.
