Recent CU Psychology and Neuroscience postdoc and graduate student Choong-Wan "Wani" Woo (Cognitive) and his mentor Professor Tor Wager were in the news because of some research published in Nature Communications regarding how pain is represented in the brain. Their study examined the data from six different fMRI pain studies, each of which that used different methology, to examine the consistencies across various brain regions in the representation of pain.
